(Past) Ready For A Change
For many of us, it's been a l-o-n-g HOT summer and for us in Florida, there's still several months of left of the "icky, sticky" hot weather. I'd love a change of scenery, but with no vacation on the schedule, I'm gonna do the next best thing...I'm going for a change in season!
"An Imaginary Visit Through Autumn" is going to start up on September 1st and I'm going to imagine and sketch all the bright, jewel-toned leaves I can stand and then I'll focus in on the landscape in all its beauty. I'll take a stroll over to the Farmer's Market to see what kind of pumpkins and gourds I can find and of course, no Fall season would be complete without a few scarecrows and a crow or two!

It's been four years since our last visit with Autumn and all her glory and I'm more than ready—even if I have to crank the A/C done to 65 to feel a nip in the air! Want to come and join me?! I hope so! "An Imaginary Visit Through Autumn!" will begin on September 1st and run through October 6th.

With the Autumn class ending in early October, that gives us enough time for another class...any suggestions? What about a Holiday class? Another location you've been wanting to visit? Let me know by sending me an emailI'd love to hear your ideas!

A Peek Back At The Beginning!
The leaf to the right was painting way back in one of the first Autumn classes, maybe 2011...way before high definition video, before I learned what I was doing! I had to laugh at the video when I think about where I started and where I am today. The old saying, "You've come a long way, baby!" comes to mind. Still, the information and the techniques are still valid and something I use to this day.

So you can giggle along with me, I'm making this video available to my newsletter participants. If you'd like to watch this ANCIENT video and learn how to paint a variegated leaf, click on this link* or the one below and enter the password of prehistoric. *You must have access to the internet for the video to play.

After you get over your fit of giggles, let me know what you think. If you're in the mood come and join me for more techniques like these in "An Imaginary Visit Through Autumn!"

If you decide to paint a leaf or three, tag me over at Facebook or the blog, Painted Thoughts Blog!
