It's hard to believe Spring is right around the corner...according to what the calendar says! Mother Nature seems to have ideas of her own about when Spring is going to put in an appearance. This year is going super, super fast already with lots of fun
things in the works. Read on for info on anew online class and a workshop, both in France!
You're Invited To Join Me For The Imaginary Trip To The Southwest Of France and Le Vieux Couvent ONLINE Class!
I'm pleased to announce the Imaginary Trip to the Southwest of France (And Le Vieux Couvent) Online Class! Similar to the last online class about Paris (which you can find here), I'll be sharing my sketchbook from my adventures in SW
France as well as how I "finish" my pages to give them a little bit of polish.I will be sharing photographs of the many small villages and towns we visited while we were there in October to fill up some of the empty pages I still have.
You hear about the wonderful light in Paris, but I've got news for you...the light was gorgeous all over France! It looked pearlized or iridescent at times. It was so crystal clear and bright, that it would almost hurt your eyes to look. We'll also take a stroll through the gorgeous gardens around LVC and Frayssinet!

If you've ever wanted to experience magic made visible (outside of Disney) then you're going to want to join me at Le Vieux Couvent in September! I am heading back to LVC on September 19th for ten fun, fabulous days! This place is a delight to ALL of your senses.
The places you'll visit, the things you'll see and experience, the food you'll taste...the whole experience is over-the-top fantastic! Several of the participants didn't want to come home after this workshop! The gardens at LVC are wonderful to stroll through and simply admire, but I bet you'll soon find a small, quiet corner and to relax in. The buzzing of the bees and
the warm sunshine might even convince you to take a nap!
Are you creative all the time, ? Spring seems to bring about a surge of energy that we put forward to many tasks once we are no longer held captive by the cold, but very few of us claim to be creative.
Part of that might have to do with how we define creativity. We feel creativity or being creative only applies to specific activities like drawing, dancing, painting, sculpting, singing and so forth. But when creativity is examined more closely, it seems a broader definition is needed.
It takes some form of creativity to prepare appetizing meals, create a pretty table-scape, coordinate our outfits attractively, style our hair, decorate our homes, plan our gardens and so much more!
I often find that when I'm struggling to be creative in the usual formats of sketching and painting, I can channel my creativity into other facets of my life (sewing, decorating, cooking, etc.) and it will open the flow up. It seems my muse gets bored (easily!) and moving around to a variety of subjects keeps her happy and the creativity flowing. Is your muse the same way?
The other cool thing I've learned about creativity is that the more you use, the more you have. Doing something creative in one area of my life often flows over to another and gives me better ideas than what I started with.
So while you're working in the garden, look around for inspiration and creativity and how it's flowing into other areas of your life! And if Spring has not fully sprung where you are, reverse the process—look at some of your latest art projects to see how it can be used to inspire ideas for your garden or home!
Happy Spring and I look forward to seeing you in France!
