Hi, , I don't know about you, but it seems I am just now finding my stride into this new year (which is already nearly three months old!!). Do you ever feel this way?
While it's not unusual for me to feel out of step with the new year, it is unusual from the standpoint that it is generally April or May before this begins to happen. It's a sensation of feeling like I'm in the wrong month or I am constantly behind by a month or two.
Perhaps because of January's events, the political environment and the pandemic, each having their own impact, or perhaps for no reason at all, I find myself in sync with the calendar—yay!! If this is one of the gifts from the pandemic, I'll gladly take it and count it as a win.
It would also appear that 2021 is going to be a year of learning for me—both things I want to learn but also that I need to learn. Things like new art mediums along with new techniques or styles sound like a great deal of fun. Learning new software programs and tech-y stuff, not so much. I'm aiming for balance much like the barred owl above. I don't necessarily want to glide through the year (I don't want to miss anything!), but I do want to wing
my way confidently towards my accomplishing my goals.
I do hope you've found your stride in 2021 and life is slowly but surely improving in your world. Have you been doing any painting or pursued another creative outlet?
I hope so! Are you up for some more fun learning as I have lots of new classes coming up this year (more info below)?
I have to say Zoom has finally become a friend and I have never been so appreciative of the wonders of technology. Without those wonders, I think we would have all lost our minds!
A Basket Full Of New Springtime Classes!
Skippy, The Hoppy Easter Bunny Gnome, 3.24.21
Hurry, this one starts tomorrow! Bunnies and carrots, gnomes and every kind of pastel color make this card a treat. If you don't have pastel watercolors, don't worry, you don't need them. The art is created using white watercolor added to the pigments we already use everyday! This LIVE Zoom Class gives you the opportunity to paint live
with me and ask questions as we go and class replays will be available for a year. Want to learn more? Click the link below.
Sssssshhh! She's shy and she looks like she just might startle and scamper away! This project also makes use of white watercolor to create the pretty pastels we see in the wreath along with the bunny's soft, fluffy fur. Not a hand-letterer? Don't worry, you don't have to be! You receive a template of the wreath, the bunny and the lettering so all you
have to do is paint! Want to know more about this LIVE Zoom class? Replays will be available for a year. Please click the link below to learn the details and get registered!
It's time to show earth some love and what better way than with a earth heart?! Earth Day will be Thursday, April 22nd, this year. This is going to be a simple and easy project to paint and again, the lettering will be provided so you can focus on the painting. This class will be held LIVE via Zoom, but unlike the others, it
will not be recorded and made available afterwords. This means you'll have to be available on the day of class. Want to join the fun? Click the link below!
An old envelope pulled from a pocket while out and about, stuffed full of pretty blooms found on a new spring day—sound like fun? Come and join me for this pen and wash class! Each envelope will be different as you'll have creative control over the "cuttings" you fill your envelope with. Lettering is provide and it could not be
easier when you use watercolor pencils to create the letters. Please click on the link below to get all the details and to get registered!
Come and check out some of the art items in my Zazzle shoplike the "Be Happy" Hollyhock print over at the left! The art is also available as a pillow or a plaque. If you click on the art to the left, it will take you directly to the page with the art (and I'd be ever so grateful if you could like my
shop!)
I have several more pieces of art to add in the next few weeks so I hope you'll have a chance to visit Painted Thoughts Studio!
There are about a dozen products available with many more to come. If there's a piece of art I've created that you would be interested in and you don't see it, please let me know and I'll see what I can do about making it available!
